Crystal plasticity simulation of in-grain microstructural evolution during large deformation of IF-steel

High-resolution three-dimensional crystal plasticity simulations are used to investigate deformation heterogeneity and microstructure evolution during cold rolling of interstitial free (IF-) steel. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)-based spectral solver is conduct using a dislocation-density-based model. The in-grain texture misorientation spread consistent with experimental results obtained electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) experiments. show that two types strain localization features develop the large IF-steel. first type forms band-like areas accumulation appear as river patterns extending across specimen. In addition these river-like patterns, second rather sharp highly localized shear bands identified. These dependent on crystallographic orientation grain extend within single grain. localization, gradients, features, dislocation density, kernel average misorientation, stress in major components discussed.
